Success - What Does “Positive Thinking” Mean Anyway?
May 8th, 2009 by luis444I have found that some thoughts we consider positive are not really positive at all. We must start using positive thinking.
This is because not every thought when activated is designed to produce the result we want. This is what I mean.
All thoughts were designed to produce a result once activated just like a computer chip. For instance, the result of thinking about biting into a sour juicy lemon is the generation of extra saliva in our mouths. This thought becomes positive when we are in a mouth watering contest but it becomes negative if our goal is to win a dry mouth competition.
Make sure the activated thought is designed to reach your goal
If your goal is to have a higher paying job within 30 days and you currently believe the thought, I have faith that I will get a higher paying job, what results are produced when this thought is activated? Yes, we may think this is a positive thought, but is it really?
Go inside your mind for a few moments and see what it is like when you have this goal and you believe this thought. Do you wait around for phone calls, and opportunities to come your way? And do you find yourself depending on outside forces to bring you the higher paying job?
If your goal is to wait around, then yes having faith is a positive thought. However, in this case our goal is to have a higher paid job within 30 days, so this may not be a positive thought for this goal.
Transform the Negative Thought to a Positive One
If you notice that the thought you currently believe is not producing the result you want, consider transforming it into a thought that is designed to reach your goal. Use the power of positive thinking.
Play around with different thoughts until you find one that produces the results that match your goal. You might try, I am willing to do what it takes everyday to get the pay and job I want. Then, quietly go in mind while concentrating on this thought and see yourself living out this new activated thought everyday for the next 30 days. How would you feel if you woke up everyday believing this thought? What things might you do during the day? What is your energy like and what opportunities do you make for yourself when you believe this thought?
Compare the different activated thoughts and notice which one is designed to produce the result you want. Now this is thinking positive.
